Hurricanes 2016

forgot to mention the erosion from this hurricanes rain water was minimal., i did not even get any ruts on my property

last night was stagnant and very humid, very uncomfortable.  

Here is a short video i made of the hurricane the morning after when the winds were down to 40 mph sustained.   the wind was pelting me with sand in the face while i took this video.   the peak was several hours earlier when it was dark.   Not sure of the exact time as I went to sleep to wake up when the major peaks caused things to outside to slam to the ground.    

these videos do not do a great job of the feel of the power of the waves out there, the waves shown or title surge was only about 2 feet above normal tide levels.   We were hit at approximate .43 meter tide level so not at a high tide or peak high tide. So no tidal/surge damage to low built beachfront homes. No reports of village homes having water in them like past hurricanes.

electric is on today around noon.

finally a breeze to start drying us out a bit.    Been stagnant.   moths are out again swarming the lights they can find at night.

Hard to say as it came through at night.     so I would guess we had sustained of 60-70 mph with gusts at 80-a rare one at 90mph.   The 90 mph knocked down some items that are my test threshold from past hurricanes.   items at that wind speed, it was just a short duration.   Was not up for the major gusts but they do wake you up when things get smashed to the ground..

my estimate is I received 1 inch of rain at my location.

internet has been on and off  still no electric

running by diesel generator.   a 2kW generator runs 3  large fridges all lights fans 2 computers 2 wifis and one AC unit at 7000 BTU mini split.   I small RV 110 volt water pump.

the  I believe they are termites are out swarming again.

In town ES they have cleaned up the sidewalks.  

Sophia spotted a cow calf that got a bucked stuck on its head on the beach today.   I decided not to attempt to remove it because it was upset and acting spastic.   So took Sophia down to the police station to report it and they went right after it.    We went elsewhere so do not know the outcome.

my place is a mess.... rooms not to much water in them. no glass broke

here are some pics from this morning. all was calm by 10am. No hits from the backside. I am working with generator, the rumor is CFE will restore power as no damage, already I read in San Jose they have restored power. So could be evening or tomorrow.

just a little rain also the winds are not sustained right now, just gusty, at the 50-70mph gusts. It is more powerful than I anticipated.

well the tropical storm is supposed or upgraded to turn into a hurricane opps it is a hurricane now…    

is starting to show signs the seas are starting to get rough here, and now clouded in. we have an onshore wind right now. I will post pictures as things get rougher.

we now could have 2-4 inches of rain. We are right at the band edge.

well it appears it has disapated, very little rain and wind last night and cloudy and patchy out their but not dark clouds.

6:30am   Javier is downgraded to not be a hurricane as of this morning. but the hurricane watch has moved up to Barriles.    



8am raining hard again... 15 minutes

9:15 we got our first 1/8 inch of rain with 20mph winds about an hour ago.   was putting plastic on beds and was going to start putting up my rain shutters up and did not get them up in time.    no rain for an hour real cloudy.    I will post pictures and such as the time goes.



4pm  been doing the on and off again for the entire dy, seems 5-15 minutes of rain and some heavy and 45 minutes of drizzle to nothing.  

no pictures yet will take one in a few minutes.



7:25pm about 1/2 inch to 1 inch of rain so far.

well today we have had at around 8am 1/8 of an inch to 1/4 inch in a 15 minute or so blow by. cloudy as can be.
