Hurricanes 2023

yesterday had about 1/2 inch of rain from the hurricane Jova way outer bands. So mosquitos are starting to get out. This may make them explode.

bobos way out of hand right now.  I have a small belt blower that i gt today in lapaz and a hat with netting to try to stop them.    right now can not work outside dusk and dawn.

from the rain 5 days ago we had bad bobos as of yesterday. I have ordered via Amazon a hat with screening and a belt-mounted rechargeable mini blower to see if one or a combo of the two does the job.

there has been a strange temp drop that I do not remember ever happening before. this morning 80 degrees. afternoons only upper 80s when it should be 84 in the morning and 92 afternoon. Last month or two it had been 2-3 degrees higher morning and evening. we are getting winds from the north that are kitable and some winsurfable.

The rin we had a few days ago was strange as normally a rain like that is from a hurricane and there are no potential hurricanes right now.

well, the buckets show anywhere from 1 inch to 2 inches.

we have a storm cell above us, heavy rain from the south, moderate from the above then heavy fron the north.    looks like campground arroyo running. my guess is 1/2 inch. lots of lightning

been strange, our temps and humidy has come back to normal vs so far this summer elevated a bit and temps moving back to normal vs the 2-3 degrees above.

Plus really strange we are getting middle of october north winds that are even windsurfable.

we had a little more rain today. Not much but every drop is needed. my unofficial guess is we have 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch total for this storm.

well we could have the eye switching for us as it is calm right now. We could get the back end winds the opposite direction. Usually not as strong when it is this far away.

here is los planes and LV i-windsurf charts, I reported about 50mph gust this morning and was very close to los planes, 48 there, but this was a very short time, during the day we were at about 40mph gusta.

still blustery even though maps show TS is past us.

off and on rains a hard downpour for 3-10 minutes every 30 minutes.    no massive rain so far. very minor erosion. no massive wind. we are far away from the hurricane. But even these blasts we have remind us how bad hurricanes really are. IE even this short blasts of nothing wind can scare ya.

heavy rain just started.  and ended 2 minutes later.

tis 6am,  the stronger winds started at 5:30am.    off and on rains and wind.  my guess is we had so far 20mph winds sustained with gusts at 50mph.  so not close to hurricane obviusly but just this makes you fear hurricanes.     Below are static pictures of our highest wind snapshots.     had very little wind and no rain till about 5amish peaking at 5:30ish. we have not lost power so far.

we has some minimal rain a few hours ago.

some decent wind gusts last night...   maybe 40mph to 50mph  motivating one to get ready as it is coming later today.

also a negligible amount of rain at my location. it did dampen things and we are cloudy all morning so far till 8:40
