Wanted to share some visa information for those with expired FMM’s. I got my new tourist visa today at La Paz immigration after mine expired in March. It was super easy and completely free, I got another 180 days. You just need to go to this website and fill out the form: https://www.inm.gob.mx/tramites/publico/estancia.html. Check the images on this post what else to do, you will need to print all these documents as well. I recommend going as soon as they open (9am) so you will be able to get it the same day. I will post the text for the letter in a comment so it’s easy to copy. Here is to another 6 months in beautiful Baja!

and pay, you still have to get it stamped at the border. and you must be accurate with date and specific location of crossing or you have to pay again. you really must have a copy of the payment also.

pay for it before you cross still has to be stamped presumably at the border Port Of Entry, saves you a bit of time at the border when times sometimes matters.        500 pesos.

also the link I posted before is direct to IMM and has a selector in English.

For those of you driving across the border and will be in need of an FMM, or Mexican Visa, the following web site will guide you through the process of obtaining it online. Fill out the forms (click on the English button), make a credit card payment, receive email confirmation and download link, download and print the Visa and have it stamped at the border. This will alleviate the need to go through this process at the border saving potential hassles and time. I just did it, very simple!

Hi Fellow Travelers,  We always cross at Tecate. If you are a member or join Discover Baja Travel Club, you can pay the fee to them online with a credit card and they mail you your travel visas. Then at the border, you only go into the immigration office once, show them the bank receipt and visas that the travel club sent you and they stamp your visa. One stop shopping!!  Have a great trip.We are heading down ourselves soon!
at the specific crossings listed in the previous headings there are instructions where you can get the visas generally with map or pictures..    Only the San Ysidro crossing is it confirmed they are open with a bank 24 hours.
