consulate is moving...
page 15 says the consulate is moving to the shops at Palmira. and says they hope to keep same phone number.
also notes there is a Consular Warden Neil Shroyer at Marina de LaPaz available for general information and emergencies 612-125-2112

The Deputy Consul General from the US Consulate General in Tijuana, Lynne Skeirik, will be holding a Town Hall Meeting for American Citizens at 10 AM on Tuesday, January 25 at the Club Campestre Beach Club in San Jose del Cabo, BCS. She will talk about services for American Citizens and will be available to answer questions.
The Beach Club is located on the Transpeninsular Highway, opposite Plaza Peninsula. For driving instructions, please call the Consular Agency at 624 143 3566. The meeting will begin promptly at 10 AM. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Renew Passports In Cabo - Hi, Yes you can renew and get a new passport in Cabo, I am doing that right now. You can find them in Plaza Nautilus right down town in the marina. Please keep in mind that it is now taking up to 6 weeks to receive your new passport. So go with time to spare. $100.00 U.S. for 10 years. Here is e-mail to the Cabo consul: usconsulcabo@yahoo.com
You will also need to fill out a form online and bring it with you to Cabo. Write them a note and they will get back to you really quick.

The U.S. Consulate General in Tijuana announces the appointment of
Trina Brown as the U.S. Consular Agent in Cabo San Lucas. Ms. Brown
will assume duties at the Consular Agency in Cabo San Lucas beginning
January 26, 2009.
The appointment of the new Consular Agent means that services at the
facility will be expanded, although notarial services, such as
affidavits, will not be available immediately.
Among the services that will become available at the Consular Agency
beginning January 26 are the acceptance of applications for U.S.
passports and acceptance of applications for consular reports of
birth abroad for the children of U.S. citizens. As always, the
agency staff is available for emergency services, both during and
after normal working hours.
The Consular Agency is located at Blvd. Marina, Local C-4, Plaza
NĂ¡utica, Colonia Centro, Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur. The
telephone number is 143-3566. The Consular Agency's normal working
hours are 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., except Mexican and American
holidays.

Here's the scoop on the US consular agency in CSL:
The US Consular Agency in CSL has closed temporarily. It will be staffed intermittently but if you encounter an emergency during business hours, call the US Consulate in Tijuana at 01 664 622 7468. If you have an emergency after hours, call San Diego at 001 619 692 2154. And to check for staff here in CSL, call 624 143 3566. These numbers are posted on our website, www.cabomil.com.mx
